Remembering Jabberjaw, the Coolest L.A. Music Venue You’ve Never Heard Of

Though it was only open from 1989 to 1997, the LA venue Jabberjaw has had one of the most enduring legacies in independent music. It was located just north of South Central in the Arlington Heights neighborhood, putting it miles away—both geographically and aesthetically—from the plasticine Sunset Strip-based hair metal that has traditionally ruled LA.
