Location Shoot

It’s hard to think of the center of the motion picture industry being anywhere other than Hollywood, but that was the case in the early 1900s as movie studios were setting up shop around New York City. While the first motion picture camera, known as a Kinetograph, was invented in 1890, it wasn’t until about 20 years later that movie cameras really came into their own and made movie production a reality for even the smallest studio. Of course, with all these new studios shooting films in and around NYC, it only made sense that the city’s oldest camera shop would be onboard. From sales and service to rentals and film stock, Willo’s did it all and worked hand in hand with the burgeoning motion picture industry to help lay the groundwork for the way movies are made today.
