LimeWire was a peer-to-peer file-sharing client, similar to Napster, that has since been discontinued. LimeWire allowed users to share their computer’s digital media files, including music, video and text, with others free of charge. In addition to criticism for allowing users to illegally share and download copyrighted material, it was also infamous for spreading malware and for its use of bundling, i.e. installing various items onto users’ systems without their knowledge and ruining the family PC.
