Carlsbad Raceway, a little north of San Diego, was billed as the most modern drag racetrack in the country when it was built in 1964. What most people don’t realize, it was also used as a road racetrack.
Starting around 1972 the Porsche Owners Club and the Porsche Club of America San Diego Region started running “Time Trial” events using the drag racetrack and return road as a road course.
