Yul Brynner in his 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

Legendary actor Yul Brynner in his 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster in front of the cinema. Yul Brynner played Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II in The Ten Commandments (1956), which to date remains one of the highest grossing movies in history. Born in Russia in 1920, came to New York in 1941 to study acting. In 1951, he began starring in the Broadway version of The King and I. Brynner became an immediate sensation in the role, repeating it for the film The King and I (1956) and winning the Oscar for Best Actor. I loved his performance as the gunfighter with a heart of gold in The Magnificent Seven (1960), but the role that always captivated me was as Rameses in The Ten Commandments. H/T >
