The Dark Half’s 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado 4-Speed

According to an IMDB’s trivia facts, the black Oldsmobile Toronado in the movie The Dark Half has a four-speed manual transmission. But this is a little impossible because the Toronado didn’t come with anything but GM’s three-speed automatic behind the 455 Rocket. How this mistake made it past anyone who had a hand in trying to source the car for the movie is beyond me. Did they think it was cooler to have him shift like it was a manual? To be honest, the whole movie didn’t depend on whether the guy shifted or not, so this little detail is usually forgotten, but as car people, we notice. Source >
