Despite what you see on TV, movies, and even in Grand Theft Auto Online, the LA River is very much off limits and kept behind locked gates. Points of entry are heavily patrolled and most have cameras, but that doesn’t mean people don’t find their way in. There is no shortage of people who make their way into the lower concrete portion of the LA River to live out their dreams of ripping down the extensive flood basin.
