The Coal Miners of Frostburg

I am taking a vacation… so I thought. I am staying at my son’s house in Frostburg, Maryland, dog-sitting. Today I decided to visit a trail to walk, and before I knew it, I was at the coal miners’ memorial staring at 712 names on plaques and details about each of their deaths. The written names wound through a made-up snake wall made of what looked like coal. At first, I thought, ok, here are a few names. Let me clear them. Then more names appeared, then more then I looked ahead, and the mine trail snaked all the way up the little trail with name after name after name… I stood at each plaque and cleared the names.
