Maybe you’re right, 200 Rare Records You “Should Own” sounds a bit didactic, doesn’t it? But even in a magazine series with a tradition of comically long titles like this one, it would have been hard to fit a subtitle like “…if you unexpectedly come into a large sum of money or can otherwise find a way to legitimise the expense” onto the cover. We’re talking about an ideal situation here. And it’s worth saying that while the universe of rare records is certainly a place where money will help, this isn’t a list of the world’s most valuable records (although some are included).
