Paul Newman and his Porsche Powered VW Bug

Paul Newman and his famous red convertible VW Bug with the Porsche 912 Engine. Mr. Newman actually owned two red Beetle convertibles. The first one packed a Porsche 912 engine to maintain a near-stock external appearance, but considerably better performance. The second one was a slightly more tuned affair known as the ‘Indy VW Beetle.’ That rag top bug sat on a custom chassis with a mid mounted V8 and a host of other racing goodies… you can read more about that one here >
