On July 18, 1997, at around 10:00 a.m., Drew Wright was sightseeing in Rome when he captured this unusual photograph of a UFO in Rome. Still nursing a brutal hangover after his first night in Italy — one fueled by what he described as far too much cheap red wine—Wright noticed several local boys excitedly pointing toward the sky and referring to a mysterious object as “il disco.” Looking up, he spotted the strange disc-shaped object hovering above the ancient ruins and managed to snap a quick photograph before it disappeared from view. The unexpected encounter threw off his plans for the morning, and Wright ultimately missed his scheduled visit to the Sistine Chapel. As he later recalled, “I had a terrible hangover from all the cheap red wine I had imbibed the night before, my first night in Italy.”
