Dreams always end

“Guess your dreams always end, hey don’t rise up, just descend.”

“Insight” is perhaps one of the most overlooked Joy Division songs, and is probably one of their saddest, too. It is the track from Unknown Pleasures that most explicitly deals with the theme of death and Curtis’s apathy towards living, which he rages about over a gentle but driving rhythm section. We make light of a lot of things around here, but some things are no joke.
