Remember the Holly Farms Fried Chicken on what used to be Dean Avenue NE (today’s Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave), east of the river? It was close to H.D. Woodson high school near Division Avenue, NE. Check out the “then” and “now” images above and below. Can’t say I’ve ever been to the now shut down restaurant that was called George’s Carryout in the “now” picture below, but the building hadn’t structurally changed much from the original image above.
